Dom Global Support Foundation (DGSF) hosted a powerful and transformative event titled “Empower the Girl Child for Success Using Tech Skills” at the prestigious Women Development Center, Abuja — and it was nothing short of inspiring!

🎉 A Celebration of Potential and Purpose

The event brought together dozens of girls from various Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across Abuja, creating a vibrant atmosphere of hope, empowerment, and possibility. These young girls, many of whom have faced challenging circumstances, were given an extraordinary opportunity to learn, connect, and be transformed through technology and education.

💻 Equipping Girls for the Future

The central focus of the event was digital empowerment. Through a series of hands-on sessions and workshops facilitated by experienced instructors and volunteers, the girls were trained in essential tech skills such as:

• Basic computer literacy

• Internet safety and responsible use

• Graphic design using Canva and Photopea

• Mobile photography and content creation

• Introduction to coding and AI-driven tools

• Presentation skills and digital storytelling

The learning environment was lively, interactive, and tailored to meet the girls at their level of understanding—encouraging them to explore, ask questions, and express their creativity.

By the end of the program, the transformation in the girls was evident. Many of them, who had never touched a computer before, were confidently designing simple flyers, navigating the internet, and expressing big dreams for their futures.
Some of the girls spoke boldly about becoming tech entrepreneurs, digital designers, and even teachers to pass on what they learned.
